Underbelly Little Italy
Working within the existing 1,000 square-foot interior footprint was the primary design challenge for the flagship location of Underbelly in Little Italy. Interesting seating solutions in the form of functional and beautiful steel and glass window systems doubled the restaurant seating capacity of the downtown ramen shop. Rectangular windowpanes flip up horizontally overhead, while the bottom rectangular pane flips down and inward (making a tabletop for two seats both inside and outside) drawing attention outdoors as well as taking advantage of the picturesque San Diego climate.
