West Bean Coffee Roasters

The goal for this first brick-and-mortar location of West Bean Coffee Roasters was to parallel our client’s passionate philosophy of coffee: beautiful in its simplicity, yet complex in its own way. Designing and fabricating a fresh and urbane shop on a tight budget, BASILE began by adding depth and dimension with a water jet-etched, hot rolled steel C-channel dividing feature and horizontally aligned C-channels adhered to the bar face. Black and white ceramic tiles line the back bar wall and lend a playful “picnic in the city” effect, while above, storage cabinets are camouflaged with sliding chalkboard doors that double as menu displays. Eucalyptus ceiling panels and a 24’ live edge eucalyptus bench backed with unglazed porcelain tile soften the steel and enrich the outdoor feel. This modern mix of metal and wood offers an inviting allure that has led to Zagat naming West Bean Coffee Roasters one of the 21 Hottest Coffee Shops in the nation just months after its opening.
